Itinerary
|
|
Day
One:
|
Meet
you at Tocumen International Airport (Panama) for your transfer to your hotel
(down town). Welcome drinks and
short briefing on the tour. Depending
on our flight schedule, this would be a good day to visit the Canal and get a
taste of Panamanian life. If
you’re into night life your hotel is centrally located with a plethora of
restaurants, bars and discos near by.
|
|
Day
Two:
|
Transfer
to city airport for your flight to David (Chiriqui) – very early in the
morning flight takes about one hour. Arrival
in David and transfer to your hotel where the bikes are waiting.
Explore the quaint little village of Boquete – nice twisty paved roads
and beautiful scenery. Lunch in
Boquete. Return to David where we
spend the night.
|
| Day
Three: |
In
the morning we head north to the town of Almirante, climbing over the mountains to
catch the boat to Bocas del Torro. In my opinion this is one of the best
rides in Panama, it is long but the roads are new, extremely twisty, with
breathtaking scenery. From Almirante we take boat to Island of Colon, where we’ll spend the night.
|
|
Day
Four:
|
After
breakfast we head on back down to the Pan American highway on our way Cerro
Punta and Volcan. Cerro Punta
is nested up in the mountains with very well maintained roads. It
offers bird watching (if you’re lucky you can get a glimpse of the elusive
quetzal), hiking and if you’re into orchids, it has one of the best
collections in Latin America.
Surprisingly enough this place gets cold at night… We’ll spend the
night at Volcan. |
| Day
Five:
|
Today’s destination is
the border (Paso Canoas). Depending
on the mood, and more important the energy reserves of our guests we either take
the scenic route through Rio Sereno (riding along the border of Panama and Costa
Rica) or the Pan American Highway. We continue on into Costa Rica to our final destination of Dominical, a
beach town located on the Pacific.
This is a loooong riding day – be prepared. |
| Day
Six:
|
Today’s destination:
Volcan Poas. We leave early
in the morning since the volcano is best seen before 10:00 am.
We’ll spend the night at the Poas.
Volcano Lodge located right next to the volcano.
|
|
Day
Seven:
|
Volcanoes and more
volcanoes, today we head to Volcan Arenal (probably the most famous volcano in
Costa Rica. We’ll stay at Arenal
Paraiso Hotel, right at the base of the volcano.
|
|
Day
Eight:
|
Time to head back to
Panama. We get back on the Pan
American highway for our ride back to David.
This is a long ride as well, but the road and the scenery are nice.
We spend the night in David. |
| Day
Nine:
|
After a leisurely
breakfast we say good bye to our bikes and head on to the airport for our flight
to Panama City.
|
| Day
